Mliswa claims that IMF has never prescribed better solutions for the country.

Mliswa’s outburst was triggered by reports that the IMF had told the Zimbabwean government to stop paying money to companies linked to the controversial ‘Queen Bee’ a.k.a Oil Boss Kuda Tagwirei, mnangagwa’s close ally.

Mliswa went on to say “IMF will never help any Parly or lead in the turnaround of a country. We don’t actually need them as what’s been achieved since ESAP? All we get from them are stringent conditions; no money. The IMF is for the West no matter the reforms here.”

IMF reportedly warned the Zimbabwe government that funds channeled to Sakunda Holdings severely undermined the Zimbabwe’s freshly introduced ZWL currency .

Sakunda’s chief executive, Tagwirei, owns a stake in Trafigura Zimbabwe, a joint venture with Trafigura, reportedly one of the world’s largest oil traders.

According to financial times reports, Sakunda reportedly received US$366million in government bonds as payments for supplying Command Agriculture but when Sakunda redeemed some of the bonds, the payouts were made in Zimbabwe dollars at an exchange rate that translated into massive money printing.

Mliswa is not being honest about the IMF issue as I wrote and warned about the situation regards Economic Structural Adjustment Programme (ESAP) in the 1990s, warning that the money’s issued to particularly third world dictator regime, were open to corruption and only served to strengthen the military power of the regimes, who tend to use the funds such as IMF funds to buy wepons and military equipment, strengthen their dictatorship, monopoly over the economy and amass ill gotten wealth

through corruption, eventually leading to printing of worthless money to make up for the destroyed economy, all things which came to pass in Zimbabwe within less than a decade leading to mass exiling of over 6million Zimbabweans spread across the diaspora. See the photo of the cover page, ESAP Zimbabwe which way, Prosperity or Destruction, we all know what happened, nothing new, so dont listen to Mliswa.

In that ten years in the 1990s, I wrote on about voting and councils because it was clear what hold Zanu pf under Mugabe had over Rural councils, the rural electorate, and also wrote about the police and people’s rights in Zimbabwe.

Back then when we could still operate, it was easy to eastablish community libraries across rural areas in Zimbabwe and hold training workshops for the communities on these issues including the land issue and I was lucky because Im fluent in written and spoken English, Shona and Ndebele, so I was able to translate materials, design worshop training materials, lead conducting of training across the country.

This came after a two year stint as the Agritex National head of Mass media and Training Officer running & radio programmes on ZBC radio, 1) Izindaba Zabalimi, 2) Nhau dzavarimi, 3) Tinokushevedzai varimi 4) Sibiza abalimi 5) Ukugcinwa kwezifuyo, 6) tinokushevedai varimi, the six programmes recorded weekly nationwide and submitted to ZBC Montrose Bulawayo or Mbare Harare studios for airing on ZBC Radio 2 and radio 4. The seventh radio programme was the English Version , farm diary on Radio 1, so I had my hands full, fresh from university in my early 20s but because of my absolute defiance to oppressive authority, national access through radio, books, posters, pamhlets and training,

I was never one to submit to oppressive authority and the breathing space became too tight as Mugabe and his oppressive blood thirsty Zanu pf would not allow this to continue unchecked. We ultimately parted ways when I boarded an Air Zimbabwe flight to UK on the night of 28 September 2000, an iconic date in my book as i first saw Britain on 29 September 2019 and have never backed down in being the voice of the voiceless, so two decades later that date is the final date set for Mugabe’s final rest in Zvimba,..how ironic!

My UK work, continues and I appreciate the global following from Zimbabweans and other interested parties in receiving and reading genuine, information. Mugabe is gone, as a nation we need to unite, all races, tribes, religions, gender, parties and finish the last vestiges of the draconian, now Zanu PF ( Poor Finish) led by Mugabe’s clone Mnangagwa and his militarised Zanu pf. We the people have the power within us to unite and dismantle this oppressive regime.

Economic Structural Adjustment Programme, (ESAP) World Bank and IMF economic reform strategies were designed to remedy the Zimbabwe economic crisis of the 1980s.
ESAP was introduced in Zimbabwe in October 1990, but was a failure , which was then replaced by the Zimbabwe Programme for Economic and Social Transformation (ZIMPREST 1996-2000) which again failed to resolve the economic crisis as the economy basically, remained stagnant at a low level with little to no development.

ESAP called form reduction of Government expenditure, through mass retrenchment of the civil service, withdrawal of subsidies, commercialisation and privatisation of key state-owned companies, including an end to free health and free education through the introduction of user-fees in the health and education sectors, a measure designed to save government costs and generate revenue.

These are some of the meaures which led to many people grabbing the seemingly lucrative exit packages to start their own small businesses as the civil service budget was being streamlined. The real impact of ESAP as I warned in my publication was the stripping people of their dignity as they slowly became jobless, unemployed, broke and unemployable so to speak, while the government channeled a major chunk of IMF and World Bank funds designed to boost the economy towards the raging DRC war which the Zimbabwe Army was involved in. The funds actually helped Mugabes tighten his hold over the Zimbabwe economy, buy more weapons and military items for war and for oppressing the masses as what followed soon after when the MDC led by the late Richard Morgan Tsvangirai came into existence at the Rufaro Sports stadium in Harare in June 1999.

No one needs to be told about the strength of the military thereafter, including weapons and military planes bought using IMF and World bank funds by Mugabe, the Murambatsvina exercise, the Chiadzwa genocide and 2008 election violence along with the fact that at one time, Mugabe’s motorcade was actually said to be the longest presidential motorcade. ESAP funds only tightened Mugabe’s grip, monopoly, oppression, corruption and mass looting by his henchmen the military and those in his close circles who amassed millions from looting in Zimbabwe and the DRC where the military stole diamonds and minerals and created companies to run their looting operations there, some still in existence in the DRC.

At the same time we all know that Education and Health care service delivery eventually collapsed along with Agriculture, the backbone of Zimbabwe’s economy, the army was not streamlined as expected through ESAP, because you can give a dictator money but he or she will not destroy their powerbase so most of the money was channelled towards the military. When Zimbabweans fully understand this they will realise, Zimbabwe did not collapse overnight and infact, the successes registered in the early eighties were not really accredited to corrupt Mugabe but rather an off shoot of the successful Rhodesian economy under Sanctions by the rest of the world, yet Ian Smith held his own and everyone was well fed, oppressed yes but full, hospitals, schools, housing and shops were operational, while Zupco buses, trains and fuel were all affordable and available, even though the racist Ian Smith Rhodesian regime wasunder sanctions and fighting the Zanla and Zipra forces in the Rhodesian bush war for Zimbabwe’s liberation by the blacks.

We know that after independence on 18 April 1980 the Rhodesian dollar in place since 1970 was at par (1:1) with the US$ when Mugabe took over, then under peaceful conditions, no war, because of all the issues I have mentioned above, hyperinflation in Zimbabwe reduced the Zimbabwe dollar value to one of the lowest valued currency units in the world. In essence Mugabe and his corrupt thieving Zanu pf did nothing but loot what was left by the Rhodesian regime and failed to run the economy, hence the suffering in place.

Zimbabwe has always been a military state from Indepence on 18 April 1980 led then by Mugabe, never free except that we were hoodwinked by Mugabe and his Zanu pf, a corrupt caucus of looters of national wealth, wild animals, elephant hides, tusks, lions and other game for sale to China, Middle east, land, minerals including gold and diamonds but the suffering and the November 2017 coup that was not a coup which brought down Mugabe is the best example of how corrupt, evil minded, deceiptful these con artists are and thats why Zimbabweans must awaken, unite and dismantle the common enemy Mnangagwa’s militarised regime. Short of unity, amongst the people, come 2023, Zanu pf is guaranteed to win again, so lets agree, Mnangagwa and his militarised Zanu pf must fall, sooner rather than later, 2023 is too far but let that be the end of the road for this ruthless, blood thirsty corrupt regime of heartless leadership,.. no further!
